Ardo was founded in 1995 in Unterägeri, Switzerland. Ardo’s, Werner Krähenbühl, is a pioneer in the breast pump sector. Mr. Krähenbühl is also the former CEO of Ameda AG, Medela AG, and chairman of Medela International. As CEO of Ameda AG, Medela AG, and chairman of Medela International, he brought the electric breast pump into the United States. While Ardo is a family-owned and family-operated business, it is a global company selling products into more than 50 countries worldwide, with 5 subsidiaries, including Ardo medical, Inc. in the USA. All electric breast pumps are manufactured in-house in Unterägeri, Switzerland.
Ardo is committed to an integrated, holistic approach to supporting breastfeeding worldwide. Our role is the support of mothers, professionals and breastfeeding support organizations to optimize conditions for extended breastfeeding. As a producer and distributor of breastfeeding aids, Ardo supports the practice of breastfeeding with products of the highest quality and functionality. Uncompromising compliance with the WHO Code is therefore a fundamental principle for us as an international company. Ardo has declared that we clearly and unequivocally are committed to our company policy, which observes the WHO Code in its entirety and subscribes to it without compromise.
Ardo is currently supplying WIC agencies across the United States and is covered by most insurance plans including Medicaid, and works with major DME's. Ardo is the exclusive provider for electric breast pumps for the Montana Medicaid program. Ardo was selected by NASPO as a provider with intent to award for breast pumps and accessories before NASPO dissolved. Already in 2020, Ardo has been added to MMCAP through McKesson as a WIC breast pump option.

Training will be emailed. This can be completed at your leisure and can be completed within 15 minutes. Ardo Lactation Consultants are available to answer questions Monday-Saturday.
